1. فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ

   So there will not benefit them the intercession of (any) intercessors.

   74:48

2. فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ

   Then what is (the matter) with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away

   74:49

3. كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ

   As if they were alarmed donkeys

   74:50

4. فَرَّتْ مِنْ قَسْوَرَةٍ

   Fleeing from a lion?

   74:51

5. بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُنَشَّرَةً

   Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.

   74:52

6. كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ لَا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ

   No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.

   74:53

7. كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ

   No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

   74:54

8. فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ

   Then whoever wills will remember it.

   74:55

9. وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

   And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for (granting) forgiveness.

   74:56

10. لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

    I swear by the Day of Resurrection

    75:1

11. وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ

    And I swear by the reproaching soul (to the certainty of resurrection).

    75:2

12. أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ

    Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

    75:3

13. بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ

    Yes. (We are) Able (even) to proportion his fingertips.

    75:4

14. بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ

    But man desires to continue in sin.

    75:5

15. يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ

    He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

    75:6

16. فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ

    So when vision is dazzled

    75:7

17. وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ

    And the moon darkens

    75:8

18. وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ

    And the sun and the moon are joined,

    75:9

19. يَقُولُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ

    Man will say on that Day, "Where is the (place of) escape?"

    75:10

20. كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

    No! There is no refuge.

    75:11

21. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ

    To your Lord, that Day, is the (place of) permanence.

    75:12

22. يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ

    Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.

    75:13

23. بَلِ الْإِنْسَانُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ

    Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,

    75:14

24. وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُ

    Even if he presents his excuses.

    75:15

25. لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ

    Move not your tongue with it, (O Muhammad), to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an.

    75:16

26. إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ

    Indeed, upon Us is its collection (in your heart) and (to make possible) its recitation.

    75:17

27. فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ

    So when We have recited it (through Gabriel), then follow its recitation.

    75:18

28. ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ

    Then upon Us is its clarification (to you).

    75:19
